NBA: Rayan Rupert's Incredible Triple-Double
After being released by the Portland Trail Blazers in February, Rayan Rupert subsequently joined the Memphis Grizzlies, initially on a 10-day contract under former Paris coach Tuomas Iisalo, and later securing a two-way contract.
Against the Bucks, he delivered a career-defining performance. He not only shattered his previous personal bests in points (which were 20) and assists (which were 5) but also matched his rebound record in a stellar outing where he achieved an impressive 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, along with 4 steals.
At just 21 years old (born May 31, 2004, in Strasbourg), Rayan Rupert now joins an elite group of players including LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Isiah Thomas, and Magic Johnson as the only individuals to record a 30-10-10 game with 4 steals at such a young age.
Over his career, his statistics currently stand at 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists across 152 games.
The son of former international player Thierry Rupert and brother of Iliana, who recently became a Turkish champion, Rayan Rupert boasts a rich basketball journey. He played for Chalon, Coulaines, Le Mans, the Centre Fédéral, and the New Zealand Breakers before being drafted 43rd by Portland in 2023.
