Thiago Santos, a former UFC competitor, has achieved his first win in five years, decisively defeating kickboxer Guto Inocente in the first round at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA on Friday.
Following a somewhat subdued beginning to the fight, Santos showcased his grappling prowess by taking Inocente down and pinning him against the cage. From this dominant position, the outcome became inevitable as Inocente appeared unable to escape the predicament.
While his opponent was immobilized, Santos launched an aggressive series of strikes that resulted in an injury to Inocente's eye, causing significant bleeding. The referee intervened and stopped the bout before the conclusion of the opening round, with less than a minute remaining.
Official Result: Thiago Santos defeated Guto Inocente by TKO (ground and pound) at 4:21 of Round 1.
This victory marks the end of a five-fight winless streak for Santos, his first triumph since his decision win against Johnny Walker in 2021.
Guto Inocente has now suffered defeats in three of his last four outings, including a single appearance in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship last year.
